WSAA Information

(WSAA) is the collective bargaining agent for employees of the State of Wisconsin who are classified as Attorneys. These are the non-management lawyers who work primarily as either administrative law judges (ALJs), attorneys for departments, boards or commissions in the executive branch of government (agency or house counsel), or as Assistant Attorneys General (AAGs) at the Wisconsin Department of Justice.

WSAA members represent the legal interests of the State of Wisconsin in federal and state courts, as well as before administrative tribunals. They also give legal advice to their employing agencies, and they act as adjudicators at worker's compensation and unemployment compensation hearings, and in various agency regulatory matters.

The WSAA engages in collective bargaining on behalf of its members, and pursues workplace issues on their behalf. The WSAA is also active in the legislative process, with the object of preserving and enhancing the availability and quality of legal services provided to the people of the State by its members. Good government and its efficient operation are in no small part due to the hard work and dedication of WSAA members.
